Mass Planner has been shut down by Instagram, just like Instagress and Archie.
However, Massplanner was slightly different from Instagress and Archie in that it wasn’t only explicitly linked to Instagram – it was an automated bot that serviced multiple social media platforms.
It also allowed you to schedule posts, making it the more sophisticated of the three. This is particularly damning to the automated bot world because, along with Instagress being shutdown, Mass Planner was one of the more widely used services, which means that Instagram has been pretty successful in their blitz of automated services. Cutting out two of the more prominent names will undoubtedly create a dent in people’s ability to outsource their day to day activity on Instagram.
So how does this affect you and your Instagram?
It’s quite a move by the social media giant, but understandable to some degree. What it does mean, however, is that now a lot of engagement activity that was once automated will soon not be – thus resulting in a significant drop in engagement. This will undoubtedly hurt Instagram itself, which I’m sure it has taken into consideration. Beyond this culling, there are now two options available – make all your engagement natural, user activity, or jump from one automated bot site to the next until Instagram has finally caught up with them all.
The absence of Mass Planner will undoubtedly leave quite a hole, considering they had multiple facets across the social media board and didn’t just limit themselves to Instagram.
This could potentially end up stinging Instagram, however, as people have to try to create better continually, higher quality content to be noticed in such an overwhelming social media space, resulting in less engagement and overall interest in using Instagram to promote personal and business pages.
Many would argue that automation, especially across multiple social media sites as Massplanner provided, could be a good thing. But there is such a thing as too much of a good thing, which has inevitably seen the untimely demise of Massplanner and other favourite automated bot websites.
