While you may feel overwhelmed by the engagement you have to do on social media sites like Instagram, it’s not all doom and gloom. In fact, there are some smart companies who have excellent reputations out there that can actually help you with your engagement.

It almost sounds too good to be true someone else building your social media brand for you – and a lot of the time, it can be. However, there are some good ones out there, it’s just all about knowing how to spot them.

Let’s give one of them a review and decide whether they’re worth your money and time or not.

What is BlastUp?

What’s interesting to us about BlastUp and the thing that stands out straight away is how they’ve changed their name. For legal reasons, they have to claim on their website that they used to be called something else, and that name was Gramblast.

If you know anything about Instagram and their terms and conditions, you’ll know why they changed their name. Instagram has copyrighted the term ‘gram’ which means that it’s illegal for another company to use it in their name.

This isn’t a great start for BlastUp, but we’ll give them a review anyway. They claim to sell real engagement, but we’ll determine whether this is actually true or not.

A Review of BlastUp

First, we’ll talk about the positives:

  • Secure Site: like many companies these days, good or bad, Blast Up have managed to secure their website with https. This is a fundamental part of making sure that your customers’ information is secure when they share it through your website. Additionally, it also means that you’re more likely to be found in a Google search.
  • Visible Pricing: like other companies that we’ve come across, Blast Up hasn’t got their prices all lined up and featured on their own webpage. They’re scattered sporadically throughout the website, which we don’t love – we would prefer it if they were all in one place and easy to understand. However, they are cheap, but too cheap perhaps. They ultimately could be too good to be true.
  • FAQ and Help Page: Blast Up seem pretty determined to turn a new leaf since their copyrighting issues, and this is evident in the effort they’ve put into some of these features. They have made sure to include an FAQ page that helps you if you’re not too sure what they’re all about. The more you know about a company before you commit, the more confident you’re going to feel.

Now, let’s look at the negatives:

  • 24/7 Customer Support: what’s interesting about this feature is that Blast Up do claim to have customer support who you can connect with at any point in time. However, we’re pretty sure that this isn’t a 24/7 thing, which means you could be waiting a long time to hear back from them.
  • Real Reviews: Blast Up seem more interested in showcasing what they know about social media engagement than sharing with potential customers what existing customers have said about them. We couldn’t seem to find any real reviews anywhere, which is definitely disappointing and easy to come to the conclusion that there aren’t any because they don’t exist.
  • Email and Phone Form: this is perhaps the most important aspect of accountability that a company selling a service could have. It means that you’ve got a nicely organized database of all the people who have bought your service, and if anything changes about that service, you can let them know.
  • Verified Gateway: while Blast Up does claim to accept Visa and MasterCard, this is where their effort with the payment gateway stops. They haven’t secured it in any way, which means not only is the way you can pay limited, but the chances of hackers stealing your information are pretty high.

Is Blastup a Scam? Is Blastup Safe?

When you take a look at the Blast Up website, it’s big and bright and colorful. While this may be appealing to a younger audience, it may take someone who’s had a bit of experience to see through it and realize that this is just another company who is trying to sell you fake engagement.

We can confidently say that Blast Up’s followers are fake, which means they haven’t learned anything from the issues they had with Instagram before.

It won’t be long before they’re shut down once again for selling fake engagement, and then perhaps this time they can throw in the towel and stop scamming people.
