2021 Update: Are Instagram bots dead? They are not! There are just a lot fewer services to choose from now. So it’s more important than ever to pick a service that keeps your account safe.
The thing about the world of Instagram and social media marketing is that it is hugely unregulated. This means that it is a breeding ground for scams, and there are websites and companies popping up all the time that purely just want to take advantage of their clients, and rip people off left right and center.
The catch-22 here is that if you are not getting anywhere with your Instagram growth, you are probably desperate for a bit of help, but you have no idea where to even begin when it comes to choosing the right company to help you.
In this article, we are going to discuss one of the latest scams to be associated with the Instagram growth industry, and why it would be in your best interests to avoid it.
What is the SNS Followers Scam?
The SNS Followers Scam is a scam that involves more than one website at this point. Normally, companies in the social media marketing industry will act alone, and just focus on getting clients to buy their features, so that they can take advantage of them. However, every so often there is a group of people that aim to use multiple websites at the same time to rip people off.
The SNS Followers Scam is actually one group of people, or a company that is selling fake followers through Google PPC. This is against Google’s terms and conditions, which means that as soon as you sign up with them and make the most of their features, you are going to come under intense scrutiny.
Either you are going to get an email from Google itself, or you are going to be red flagged by Instagram, which could result in being suspended or shut down completely. The biggest issue that we have found with this scam is that they don’t just stop with one website. In fact, they create many different websites, which they call burner sites.
This is how they avoid being shut down by Google. As soon as Google shuts down one of their websites, they developed two more in its place. Of course, this makes them incredibly difficult to evade, because you could be dealing with a burner website out there right now, and not even know it.
Who is Involved?
So, which companies have we been able to identify so far that are involved in the scam? We have a detailed list for you below.
- snsrealfans.com – SNS Real Fans
- snshappy.com – SNS Happy
- snsfyp.com – SNS FYP
Unfortunately, this list is not exhaustive, which means that there will be other burner sites out there that are attempting to scam their clients in the same way, and you won’t be able to identify them. The main way that they scam their clients is that they sell them fake engagement, take their money, and then disappear completely, so that there is no way that you can get a refund.
How You Can Avoid Companies Like This
So, what do we think is the best way to avoid companies like this? We think that one of the best things you can do is your due diligence.
This involves reviewing companies like this extensively and researching them online before you even consider working with them. Try to cover all kinds of different third-party forums, like Trustpilot, that can give you detailed and legitimate accounts of how individuals have found the service.
If you find a lot of reviews that are average, or you’ve got clients saying that they have been scammed out of their money and weren’t able to get in touch with the company after the fact, then you definitely need to avoid them.
Another way to determine whether a company is legit or not is to look at their pricing, and the level of security that they have on their website. If their pricing seems reasonable; not too expensive, but not too cheap, and they have taken every step to ensure that their website and their features are secure, then you are probably going to be OK.
At the end of the day, you take a risk no matter what, but the more research you do before you commit to a company, the lower that risk will be.
SNS Followers Alternatives & How it Compares
We don’t recommend SNS Followers.
The thing about the Instagram growth industry is that there are always going to be scams that you will need to avoid. Being able to read articles like this that discuss the scams in detail and talk about certain characteristics that you need to look out for is helpful, but at the end of the day you also need to make sure that you are doing your own research as well.
The more you know about the Instagram growth industry, the easier it will be to tell a legitimate site apart from an illegitimate one, so that you can preserve your Instagram reputation, and avoid having your money stolen. Good luck!
